Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Kenya?
Yes. Indian passport holders must apply for a Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) online before travelling. Kenya phased out visa-on-arrival in 2024 and now requires all visitors to have an approved ETA before boarding their flight. The process is entirely online and takes approximately 72 hours.
How to Apply
- Visit the official Kenya ETA website: etakenya.go.ke
- Create an account and complete the application form.
- Upload your passport bio page scan and a photograph.
- Pay USD $30 by credit or debit card.
- Receive your ETA approval by email within 72 hours.
- Print or save the approval, present it at Kenyan immigration on arrival.

- Digital passport photograph
- Return flight ticket
- Hotel or safari lodge booking confirmation
- Card for online payment
